It all grew out of an idea I had for running a Roman Legion campaign a few years back. The idea was for the PCs to join the Legion and get send foff for thier year of basic training. Knowing my players, I knoew some would try to wheel and deal to make some money on the side. Fortunately, that fits the Legions fairly well. At least when they were not campaigning.

Rose's Britain setting isn't a bad idea either. Probably more political than Borderlands was, too, with all the tribes and feuding that went on. In some ways the Lfe og Ceasar models the Boderlands campaign nicely. He got himself assaigned as a govenor ans used it as an opportunity to win glory (and avoid credtiors long enough the raise some denarii).[/quote]
I would use Britain mostly cause I dont know much about Morocco during Roman times or for that The border area between Eygypt and Nubia. And was thinking of doing it about when Caligula was in power so the official does not really want to be noticed and in fact is hoping they forget about him in Rome as he rather not come to the attention of Emperor Psychopath . Of course if he does a bad job he will still draw attention so he has to walk a tightrope there
and if you have your players join the Legion, is going to be on of Crassus's legions so they can see the world, or at least China?
