Who's Gary? No, I'm not familiar with the Faterpg forum, though I found SotC to not be my cuppa, so I guess that's not surprising.

BTW, in case you're curious, the following period catalogues were used to provide details for the Western files:

Great Western Gun Works, 1872
P. Powell & Son, 1875
James Bown & Son, 1876
E. Remington & Sons, 1877
Homer Fisher, 1880

Plus the highly regarded Flayderman's Guide to Antique American Firearms, 8th Edition., Major F. Myatt's excellent Pistols & Revolvers, and a hell of a lot of painstaking research through a miscellany of other resources.

When I research something I go to great pains to obtain actual period appropriate resources, such as the catalogues above; if a resource is out by more than a few years I discount it as not being accurate enough for my tastes. You would never find me using a 1890 catalogue, for example, to reference the early-mid 1880s, let alone the 1870s or earlier. I guess I'm somewhat anal that way.

I have a similar (albeit larger) range of resources, catalogues, etc. for the 1920s and 1930s as well. In fact, in terms of resources, the 1930s collection I've amassed boggles even me.

cheers!
Colin
