Nah, that is what made Warp World so funny. In a nutshell-

In the old days, gods did miracles to impress the worshipers and gain converts.

The something happened that made miracles more difficult (less cost effective). This hit into the business of most of the deities, although one made out like a bandit by getting his worshippers to have faith rather than expect miracles-a PR coup.

Me too, although I was a bit hesitant to spell it out, as it is a bit of a slam against Judaeo-Christian faiths.
