Exclamation Suggested Forums Structure

I've helped to design a few (3) forums, and although each has specific needs and such, I think I've got a good handle on what might serve this community well, based mostly on the topics currently being discussed.
This is my suggestion, I'm not married to it, so thoughts and input won't upset or offend me, nor do I wish for my suggestion to be taken as anything other than a suggestion or a possible framework for designing something that may or may not resemble this in the future.

Suggested Forums Structure:

Basic Roleplaying System
• Questions / Discussions <--this is the current forum
• Character Creation
• Magic
• Combat
• Training / Advancement
• Game Mastering
• Something else (?)
• Something else (?)
Basic Roleplaying Settings
• Call of Cthulhu
• Glorantha
• Sci Fi (?)
• Other 1...
• Other 2...
• Historical
• Alternate Earth
__ ¤ Viking / Iceland
__ ¤ Celtic
__ ¤ Other 1...
Basic Roleplaying Games
• Recruitment
• Active Games
• Inactive Games Archive
Off Topic / Other
• Links / Banner Exchange
• Conventions / Industry News
• Real Life Stuff
• Time-wasting

Some of these may stay empty for a little while, but they exist so that the main forums don't get clogged with *stuff*.

Too many surely.
My experience with BBS admin is that it is too easy to create forum that stay empty. I'd have a less is more approach at all times and only reluctantly add forum.

I agree with Tom - put up the basic ones that seem necessary now, and iff people want others they will ask for them.

Cheers,

Nick

The poll will close October 21st. The decision will be taken then. So far, the majority seems to want more forums now.

If you haven't voted allready, let your voice be heard by then!

Should there be a separate forum for polls?

Now there's some helpful suggestions.

This is a web page, not a stone tablet.
It's easy to add or remove forums.

What's hard is going through a cluttered forum and moving threads that don't belong there after the fact.

Looks like we are heading towards more forums. ANyone with any last minute suggestions.

I like your forum structure Sorloc, but think I will only add the main categories for now and we see how it works out.

System - Settings - PBP - Other, something like that.

I didn't post to the actual poll as I'm a bit on the fence, but you do seem to be getting a fair bit of activity here. I suspect you could get by until the book comes out with just one, though.
